With restricted access to medical and mental health treatment related to the COVID19 health crisis and Governor Tony Evers’ “Safer At Home” Order, the Board of Trustees approved temporary expansion of coverage for telehealth services. Telehealth services for medically necessary treatment from Anthem network providers will be covered at the same benefit level as in-person treatments, as detailed in the Plan Document and Summary of Benefits, subject to deductibles and co-insurance. There is no coverage for out-of-network providers, except as legally mandated as part of Coronavirus testing. The temporary expanded coverage begins for dates of service from March 1, 2020 and is subject to termination by the Board of Trustees at any time. For Medicare retirees, President Trump recently announced the addition of telehealth coverage for Medicare retirees. Ask your doctor if telehealth services are offered. Similar to the other Plan benefits, if Medicare covers the service, the Health Fund will cover it as well. At this time, LiveHealth On-Line is not part of the telehealth services covered by Medicare.
